This 176,000 s.f. Research Engineering Building accommodates more than 600 General Dynamics engineers who design, develop and test some of the world's most sophisticated electronic systems equipment. Here, the emphasis is on a work environment that really works. related laboratories and offices are grouped together for enhanced communications, but remain visually open to the exterior through the use of interior glazed panels. Spaces are flexible, adapting easily to changing needs and new product lines. All laboratories within the facility are supported by special environmental controls that insure a clean, safe atmosphere for research. the sleek appearance of the building suggests the high-tch operations within. The two-story structure's exterior is of insulated metal panels and solar gray glass, complemented by earth berms that provide natural insulation.
