The building stands as the third phase of the corporation's spectacular Campus Point Masterplan and echoes the architectural themes that run throughout the complex. Stepped-up rooflines and a curtainwall of reflective blue glass lend theproject a sleek appearance. Linking the buildings together is a central, landscaped courtyard, an amenity that provides workers with a relaxing, park-like retreat. SAIC Campus Point, Phase IV SAIC Campus Point Masterplan Area: 126,000 s.f. As the corporate headquarters for Science Applications International Corp., this project represents the fourth phase of the company's spectacular Campus Point Masterplan. A world leader in sophisticated computer and electronics systems, SAIC sought a facility with dramatic design features that would also complement other buildings in the complex. The result is a sleek, seven-story structure, whose graceful crescent shape is punctuated by a series of bold terraces. The building's sweeping design incorporates a reflective blue-glass exterior with architectural details that echo elements found throughout the campus. the curvilinear design also allows for a high number of perimeter offices, taking full advantage of scenic views of Torrey Pines State Park. This phase of the masterplan provides the masterplan with a sense of cohesion. Perpheral amenities such as a luncheon courtyard and passive seating areas, reinforce the campus atmosphere and help promote a positive professional work environment. |
