“Good design is inherently cost effective.”

ERWIN F. LEE, AIA

PRINCIPAL

Master of Architecture, 1982, Harvard University Graduate School of Design

Erwin Lee has been working on public architectural projects since 1982. As a Principal-In-Charge, he oversees all phases of project development and administration. He is personally involved in the planning and design as well as the construction process for all projects with which he is involved. He has special interests in energy efficiency through proper orientation of building massing and sustainability through the selection of durable materials.

Erwin listens well to the client’s needs, seeking information from administrators, teachers, and parents. His design solutions are responsive to districts needs and incorporate ideas and strategies that usually exceed the client’s expectations. Very personable, Erwin offers a practical, hands-on approach to public school architecture and creates long-lasting relationships with many clients.

Since joining the firm in 1988, Erwin has been instrumental in the growth and success of the San Francisco office. In 1999, Erwin became a DLM principal due to his integrity as an architect, his leadership capabilities, and his successful design approach. Several of his projects have received Leroy F. Greene Design + Planning Awards from the California Coalition for Adequate School Housing.
